Description

Welcome to the world of Ingress Prime, Agent. The fate of this universe, and perhaps others, depends on you. The discovery of Exotic Matter (XM), a resource of unknown origin, has sparked a covert struggle between two Factions. Cutting-edge XM technologies have completely transformed the Ingress Scanner, and it is now waiting for you to join this battle.

THE WORLD IS YOUR GAME
Explore the world around you and interact with places of cultural significance—such as public art installations, landmarks, and monuments—to collect valuable resources using your Ingress Scanner.

CHOOSE A SIDE
Fight for the Faction you believe in. Harness the power of XM to evolve mankind and discover our true destiny with The Enlightened, or protect humanity from a hostile takeover of the mind with The Resistance.

BATTLE FOR CONTROL
Dominate territories by linking Portals and creating Control Fields to achieve victory for your Faction.

WORK TOGETHER
Strategize and communicate with fellow Agents in your neighborhood and around the world.

The optional Adventure Sync feature integrates with HealthKit to credit your distance traveled Agent Stats, even when Ingress is in the background.

Agents must be over 13 years old (for residents outside of the European Economic Area); or over 16 years old or such age needed to consent to the processing of personal data in the Agent's country of residence (for residents of the European Economic Area). Unfortunately, no children may play Ingress.

Good

I really like Ingress. When I first started it seemed so mysterious and there are lots of little tips and things to learn in order to play effectively. The game is mainly about capturing territory but if you get fielded over you can’t do much at all other than hack. It feels like you need a car to stand a chance at getting any decent MU so it becomes fuel heavy. I find it’s monetisation a lot less intrusive than Pokémon as you don’t need to pay to raid or play parts of the game. The deploying lag is rage inducing and I get it most days randomly where I have to stop and wait for res deploys to go through. The community are old and set in their ways so can be of putting to newcomers as everyone assumes everyone else is cheating. There are Far too many backpack accounts and people abusing multi accounts though. Nia are better at banning cheats and spoofers on this game more than the others.

Eye opening, innovative and immersive

I’ve been playing Ingress for a good few years now and the introduction of Prime has only added to my enjoyment. I’ve been to so many places I would never have seen, discovered landmarks I would have otherwise walked right past and met people I would never have known. The team work hard behind the scenes and show a genuine interest in making this a more immersive experience for its players. I highly recommend this, and I urge other players to stick at it because once you learn the basics there is so so much more to Ingress Prime than meets the eye. Collecting and upgrading your medals is highly addictive and drives me on to be a better player. I wish more people in my area were Ingress Agents and the more that join, the better it is. I love seeing new names pop up and the community is so welcoming and helpful should you need their help and tips. Download, choose your faction and play your part. It’s time to move.

Playable on fast phones, different from PoGo and HP:WU

Ingress Prime is now (Jan 2020) almost at parity with the original, on fast enough phones. Developments from here out will be interesting.

Ostensibly simpler than either PoGo or HP:WU, the underlying game of team-oriented territory acquisition has its own appeal and plenty of subtleties. The sub-games of glyphing and missions broaden that appeal for PvE players.

The functional overlap with the other two Niantic titles, through the roster of in-game locations means there’s potential to play two, or even all three, usefully.

It adds an extra dimension to just walking or riding around. The various events are fun and sociable and provide reasons to take breaks away in places you might not otherwise think to go to.
